Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, a senior AAP leader, has trained his guns at Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, a day after the young leader elected from his state switched to the BJP.
Not mentioning Chadha by name, Mann said in a post in Punjabi, “Ginger, garlic, cumin, fenugreek powder, red chili, black pepper, and coriander — these 7 things together make the ‘sabzi’ taste great, but on their own, they can’t become a “sabzi.””

His post came a day after Chadha announced that he would join the BJP along with six other AAP MPs, breaking away two-thirds of the Arvind Kejriwal-led party’s total strength in Rajya Sabha.
While Chadha accused the AAP of corruption as a deciding factor for his shift, the AAP called it a “betrayal” of the Punjabi people. Chadha is a Rajya Sabha member from Punjab.

In a bombshell press conference yesterday, the 37-year-old leader quit the AAP, levelling serious corruption charges against the party.
“I gave the AAP 15 years of my life. Now the party has stepped away from honest politics. I am moving away and going close to the people. Today, the AAP is corrupt and compromised. It is not the old party. I don’t want to engage in the wrongdoings of AAP,” he said.

Chadha was joined by MPs Ashok Mittal and Sandeep Pathak in the conference. He said he has the support of four other MPs, Harbhajan Singh, Swati Maliwal, Rajinder Gupta, and Vikram Sahney, who would also join the BJP.
Hitting back, AAP chief Kejriwal made a one-line post: “The BJP has once again betrayed the Punjabis.”
The Chadha-AAP Rift
Chadha’s merger with the BJP follows a massive controversy earlier this month after the AAP removed him as its deputy leader in Rajya Sabha, a move that made their apparent rift public. The AAP had also requested the Rajya Sabha Chairman that Chadha should not be allotted time from the party’s quota to speak in the House.
The young leader confronted the move in video messages, calling it a “scripted campaign” and “coordinated action” against him.
