KOLKATA, INDIA – NOVEMBER 2, 2026
Following a landmark press conference attended by representatives from around 35 leading media houses, King’s Sports Management has officially announced Brazilian football legend Douglas Maicon as its Official Brand Ambassador.
The strategic partnership marks a major milestone for Indian football, aiming to bridge Brazilian football expertise with Indian youth development to lay the foundation for “Mission 2037″—an ambitious initiative designed to nurture elite Indian talent and place them in top-tier European leagues.
Uniting Brazilian and Indian Football Cultures
Douglas Maicon will arrive in Kolkata on November 14, 2026, for a special launch event at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre on the occasion of Children’s Day. The primary focus of bringing Maicon to India is to combine the rich youth development culture of Brazilian football with India’s emerging talent pool. Through this initiative, King’s Sports Management seeks to establish a sustainable ecosystem that identifies, trains, and elevates young players to the highest levels of football both in India and internationally.
Highlighting the long-term strategic direction, Avishek Sengupta, Managing Director, stated: “We are bringing Maicon to develop Indian football by copying what Brazil is doing with its youth players.”
Launch of Specialized Diploma in Sports Business & Player Representation

Beyond on-field development, the initiative aims to professionalize the broader sports management landscape in India. During Maicon’s visit, King’s Sports Management will officially launch a groundbreaking educational program: the Diploma in Sports Business and Player Representation.
Detailing the educational component, Saswata Ghosh, Chief Operating Officer, shared: “The idea behind bringing Maicon is to establish a new educational course and launch it with him. The course will cover a Diploma in Sports Business and Player Representation.”
Transforming Infrastructure and Mindset for Mission 2037
To realize the ultimate goal of sending Indian players to Europe by 2037, King’s Sports Management is addressing fundamental challenges currently holding back player growth, including structural gaps and career development mindsets.
Addressing these critical barriers, Ayush Chakraborty, Chief Financial Officer, noted: “Indian players are not able to grow because of the faulty infrastructure and the mentality they have.”
